Featured Event (FE) Requirements

For the 2023 season a new format for Feature Events was implemented in order to establish differing levels of Feature Events much like the DGPT has created levels of events. This allows clubs to be able to run a Feature Event that is more in line with how they think they want to run events. It allows players to know what types of things to expect such as added cash, berths being awarded, and it allows newer clubs to become a part of the process and working towards bigger events. This will help to elevate the level of the Gold Feature Events and with the creation of the two lower levels help newer clubs in growing their club and events. Previously, it was hard for a new club to get into the Feature Events. This will also help to identify to the players base what they can expect at any given level of feature event.

* Bronze events are not available to entities that have previously run a Gold or Silver level Feature Event

** Discraft Only Payouts. Discraft only merchandise is allowed for player packages (if a disc). Discraft discs only for sale on site.
*** These divisions shall be offered MA/FA 1-4, M/F Age Protected along with berths awarded to them, if there is at least a division of 3 players. They may be awarded in groups less than 3 at the discretion of the TD.
**** All events will have a Discraft Chainstar PRO purchased by the entity a discounted price to raffle off at the event.

**The below may be out of date**

To help address the sandbagging issues at the Michigan State Championships, a motion was made and the Motion was passed:

1. 1. For the Am2/Am3 (including the women) divisions in Featured Events, if there is a player that takes 1st or 2nd place and that player has never had a PDGA membership the Featured Event will deduct from that player’s payouts $35 to cover the cost of buying them a PDGA membership.
   2. The remaining $10 was initially paid by the player at entry.
   3. The last missing $5 is because the MDGO is an Affiliate Club.
   4. Non-current PDGA members do not apply.
   5. The MDGO will reimburse $17 to the FE to help cover any loss.
   6. It is HEAVILY stressed that this needs to be advertised so the player base is aware of this prior to the event.

Michigan State Doubles Requirements

The MDGO will be accepting proposals to run the Michigan State Doubles Championships. These are due by Nov 1 of each year.  As part of the their proposal, we are looking to set a minimum standard for the event to ensure a high quality event for our players.
Clubs hosting this event will need to do the following:
1. Offer the following divisions:
MPO, FPO, MA1, MA2, FA1, FA2, MPM, MPG, MM1, MG1,
Open Mixed and Am Mixed.
2. The event will be run on 2 days to accommodate all divisions.
3. Min of $250 added $ to the Open field.

4. Submit a PDGA TD report to the MDGO auditor. (the event dose not have to be sanctioned).
